Jewish Civil Registers

Jewish civil registers (with dates of birth, marriage and death) are of eminent importance for Jewish genealogy especially of the 19th century. About 850 registries of Jewish communities in Hesse are available already online as digital representation in the archival data base Arcinsys, via LAGIS as well.

The digitized data rely on the microfilm-copies of the "Reichssippenamt" (Nazi race office) kept in the inventory file 365 of the Wiesbaden State Archives.
